Risk Management Plans and Policies
Afganistan Map

What defines a Corporation’s response to a crisis or incident involving its staff or its brand are its security management functions and its security plans and policies.

If these systems are in place and are robust enough, practiced, maintained and kept up to date, passed onto management through training and education and are well resourced, then when an incident or crisis arises, those involved know their functions and what has to be done in order to resolve the situation as quickly as possible, with the best possible outcome.

During a crisis or incident, an absence of plans and policies and clearly defined management roles and responsibilities can cause delays in crisis resolution. A delay means corporate decision makers are no longer making decisions on generating business and making money but are instead perhaps making decisions as to how to salvage their business.

BSG has depth of experience in creating bespoke plans and policies for organizations that work or plan to operate in high risk environments. The plans and policies that we create are realistic and entirely bespoke to the site, project and the management structure that is in place. Alternatively we are able to provide our clients with boilerplate solutions that enable them to take further ownership of their own risk and security management functions.

  • Provide the governing ethos and principles of security and risk management
  • Provide a logical and straightforward structure to complex security requirements
  • Provide education and awareness for non-security professionals
  • Establishes security standards and approaches
  • Provides instructions and guidelines for the management of risk
  • Ensures consistency in managing security services
  • Provides effective tools, systems and methodologies for effective management
  • Provides practical guidelines and instructions in the event of an incident
  • Wherever possible seamlessly integrates Home Office and field activities

The boilerplate or bespoke risk management plans and polices that BSG can provide include:

  • Strategic, regional and local intelligence assessments
  • Country assessments
  • Kidnap and ransom assessments, prevention and corporate response plans
  • Crisis and incident management plans
  • Evacuation plans
  • Travel management plans
  • Office, residence and hotel assessments and site surveys

BSG can deliver these plans and policies in a number of ways. Typically we prefer to deploy an international manager to the country of operations to meet project management and staff, understand what the goals of the project are and how best we can support operations. Our Field Managers appreciate the surroundings and operating environment when create the plans or boilerplates as we understand that no project is the same.
